Making waves as the newest restaurant near Los Angeles International Airport Costero California Bar+Bistro  offers a contemporary and engaging environment that serves modern California dining and local craft beer.

               Serving up a variety of classics with a California twist, Costero is an all around venue, a hotspot for locals and visitors. “Costero is the perfect blend of upscale casual dining with a convenient yet inviting environment,” said Bill Sinclalir, Vice President of Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel, the hotel in which Costero is located. “This fresh from California approach not only provides guests with a new on-site dining option, but a place where they can get together with  friends and family, or even make new connections.

               The menu isn’t the only thing that is impressive. A floor plan spearheaded by Colorado’s Oz Architecture has made refreshing use of open space as a means of encouraging social interaction. Diners will find the main dining area to be warm, inviting and friendly as they enjoy their dinner, drinks and company. In addition to the main dining area, Costero offers an al fresco California dining option with a folding window that opens to a resort-style pool area  with cabanas and a deck that can also be used for private events. Costero in addition to good food is about good times with good friends.

               Representing an exciting combination of tradition and innovation, Executive Chef Orazio Parisi who with much fanfare was voted the  “2012 Chef of the Year,” by Southern California Restaurant Writers Association brings his Cordon Bleus skills and Sicilian sensibility to the creation of a menu that emphasizes fresh, seasonal flavors, and a California coastal take on time-honored American cuisine.

               You will enjoy a wide range of delectable small plates, savory soups, Neopolitan pizzas, artisinal salads, fish tacos, sandwiches, large entrees, vegetarian/vegan options, and decadent desserts. Simply put, no matter what you’re craving, Costero will have a culinary creation for you.

Menu Highlights.

Small Plates:

               Tuna Poke, Ahi tuna, crushed wasabi-avocado, meyer lemon aioli; Roasted Cauliflower, Vadouvan,aged vella jack cheese, pine nuts, garlic;  Carlsbad Mussels, Vermouth broth, nduja, grilled ciabatta; Salmon Belly Tartare, red onion creme fraiche, radish, tomatoes, capers, chives; Monterey Bay Calamari, spicy aioli, lemon and California Cheese and Charcuterie served with honeycomb, almonds, membrillo, cornichons, whole grain mustard and crostini.

Tantalizing Salads.. created with all  fresh farmers market produce:

               Kale & stone fruit, brussel sprouts, pecorino, raisins, pine nuts, goji berries, mint vinaigrette;; Country Line Baby Beets,  goat cheese  mousse, asparagus, radish, pistachios, petite greens; Freekah, Farro & Red Quinoa, pistachios, kale, pepperdews, black-currant-herb vinaigrette.


               Made with flavorful  and extra cheesy toppings are the spicy lamb sausage, wild mushrooms, Margherita, Biana, roasted vegetable; and  broccolini &fennel sausage.


               Korean bbq chicken baguette; well sauced tuna steak burger, Olvera street bacon cheeseburger, roasted turkey ciabatta are a few of the choices.


               Killer  beef short rib lasagna; cioppino; hand rolled garganelli pasta;

pan seared scallops (as good as it gets )with pancetta vinaigrette; bone-in ribeye; absolutely  mouthwatering lamb chops with lamb port sauce; and Costero Seafood spaghetti with mussels ,clams, shrimp, scallop, calamari, Calabria chili  tossed in San Marzano tomato sauce.

Light bites

               For those not looking for a full meal, but rather some light bites and a cocktail, the bar area features a jumbo video wall supported by great TVs and great audio so guests can relax and enjoy their favorite programming. Adjacent to the bar are two large communal tables with charging stations, inviting patrons to stay for a while and stay well ‘connected.’

Sweet temptations

               Sinful Hazelnut praline napoleon; tarta del Huerto; chocolate-pistachio cake; and butterscotch budino are the “icing on the cake!”


               An inspired new list of specialty cocktails also accompanies his revamped meal selections. There is a variety of local craft beers, on tap and in bottles including  beers from Venice Beach and Torrance, in addition to local craft beers. Costero will also serve more than 50 different varieties of wine from California as well as international wineries.



Lunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Dinner 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

A small plate menus is served at the  bar from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. to 2 a.m.
